They feature a “twist tie line eye” instead of an R bend for a couple of reasons. R Bend models tend to bend under the pressure of a big fish, and the line will slide down next to the weight; making it more difficult to keep pressure on the fish.
The twist tie line eye also allows for the use of a snap, rather than having to tie direct.
